How to be a better E-Shopper ?

Disclaimer- I have not received any sponsorship from any of the online retailers. These are purely my views based upon my experiences with various online sellers.

Wow! I always wanted to run this disclaimer before my work (; . Let’s get down with the dirty business now.

It’s understood that most of the things we shop these days are from our laptops n apps and why not we get lucrative offers, discounts, COD and shipping right till our doorstep. But ultimately who is getting out witted? I have quite a huge exposure of online shopping now and trust me I don’t feel proud of it cause I know I have been tricked not once not twice but many times. So this is meagre effort to escape from being a gull. I'll discuss only the big shots here i.e. - Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra.

Our no1 target Amazon.in- I have a pretty decent experience with these guys and I would give them 8 out of 10. While buying from Amazon I’ll recommend buying only those products which are Amazon fulfilled (i.e. Amazon ships these products) if you’re buying other products you are testing your luck cause in case you don’t like the product you'll have to ship it back yourself at your own cost. Plus you get free shipping and pick up on orders above certain amounts I guess that’s Rs. 499. Second there’s an Amazon invite and earn program it gives the inviter Rs. 200 and invitee Rs. 100 as gift cards for future shopping when the invitee shops for Rs. 400 or more. So while buying a new product you can invite yourself from your main account and order from invited account. I have done it numerous times and have got up to Rs. 1000 free cash on my main account.

Second on hit list Flipkart- Good and bad that’s what I can say about these guys and will give them 6 out of 10. On numerous occasions I have returned or replaced the products that I have bought. I think these guys are the perfect example of how to sell defective products. The only tip I can offer here is compare the prices of various clothing products and accessories with the prices on Myntra. You'll for sure find same product on both the apps (as flipkart owns myntra, don’t pls don’t give that look, you knew that right?) and I think they have common stock too. I have found same produc at lower costs on several occasions. About discount coupons you’ll rarely find any for products listed on Flipkart.

Now the biggest cheats, Myntra - They deliver products real quick, pick up real quick, offer you best price but same as Flipkart they sell defective products. I'll rate them as 4 out of 10.
Don’t buy from these guys unless you can’t find the product anywhere else or is available at lowest price here and you are prepared to return/replace the product if needed. Myntra also runs refer and earn scheme but its bullshit. Only new users with first time installs in their phones get money as stupid as it can get. While shopping here don’t settle for any discount below 30% as discounts get as high as 60% on the products and you can always make a new account and avail 30% discount coupon on your first purchase above Rs. 999 they used to offer free shipping too on the first purchase not sure they still give free shipping on first order.

And a common tip - all these sellers run various contests on their  twitter and Instagram accounts where you can win EGVs (Electronic gift cards) and coupons for free shopping. These are purely based on 90% your luck and 10% on your creativity.

Hope you won’t be hitched again that easily and with those stupid rhythmic ads they run 24*7 on tvs. May the force be with you!
